Special Edition Erwin Olaf

We are delighted to present to you a special edition print by Erwin Olaf from the new series Dance in Close-Up: Hans van Manen seen by Erwin Olaf. The edition print of the original Two Pieces for HET – II shows a close-up of dancers Anna Tsygankova and Constantine Allen. The print is in an edition of 100 + 10 Artist Proofs. The price of the print is € 500,- (incl. VAT and excluding shipping costs). The edition print is signed by Erwin Olaf and comes with the new catalogue of Dance in Close-Up.

Two Pieces for HET is one of the highlights of Hans van Manen’s acclaimed series of ‘ballets for two’. The first movement of Two Pieces for HET is a swirling, energetic duet performed at breakneck speed; the second a hushed adagio that gradually decreases in movement density. Instead of “starting in first gear and slowly increasing the engine,” Van Manen has the two dancers “shift down from fifth to second gear.” Former first soloist Sofiane Sylve, who co-directed the premiere performance with Gaël Lambiotte, summed up the effect prosaically, “Afterwards, you’re broken.“
