Winter Holiday Opening Hours:
Closed on December 25 – 27 and on January 1
Dear art lover,
What a special year 2022 has been for the arts. This year we were privileged to create some amazing exhibitions inside and outside the gallery.
In collaboration with the Dutch National Ballet, we celebrated Hans van Manen’s 90th birthday with a new series of photographs and videos in which Hans van Manen directs moments from thirteen different choreographies, captured in detail by Erwin Olaf himself. We then organized the Best of Graduates for the fifteenth time with up-and-coming talent from Dutch art academies. This resulted in a new presentation of eight young artists in the Dutch House of Representatives – on view until January 13, 2023.
We also entered a number of special collaborations this year. For example, we joined forces with The Noldor Residency from Accra, Ghana, and presented the work of the young talented Ghanaian artist Ishmael Armarh, next to works by Kwadwo Amfo and Mohau Modisakeng. We also collaborated with our Belgian neighbors. Gallery owners Sofie Van de Velde and Jason Poirier dit Caulier curated a group exhibition with work by Ilse D’Hollander, Stef Driesen, Tatjana Gerhard and Leon Vranken. For this, the gallery was also transformed into a magical inner garden by Belgian artist Filip Vervaet.
Finally, we look back on several special solo exhibitions at the gallery. Earlier this year we showed Unyezi, an exhibition of new paintings by South African artist WonderBuhle. Our first two solo exhibitions of the year featured works by Ivan Grubanov in For God and my Country and Marcin Dudek in Transhooligans.
We conclude this year with the idyllic watercolors of Hans Op de Beeck. This exhibition will be on view through January 15, 2023. Please note that the gallery is open between Christmas and New Years. On December 25 – 27 and on January 1 the gallery is closed.
We would like to sincerely thank you for your attention and support to our artists and, of course, to our gallery.
