The first exhibitions and pop-up photo studios will take place during Unseen Photo Fair & Festival, during which renowned photographer Koos Breukel will photograph (new) citizens of Amsterdam on the 17th and 18th of September at Felix Meritis. Between the 19th and 25th, these portraits will be printed and exhibited in a monumental portrait gallery at Felix Meritis (admission free).

On September the 19th and 20th, the Syrian photographer Issa Touma photographs old and new neighbours from the Spaarndammer neighbourhood in Amsterdam. In 2018, a refugee centre will open in this district. For now, it’s the festival heart of Unseen Photo Festival. A selection of the portraits made by Touma will be presented at Effe bij moeder an, a social living room in the neighbourhood (Knollendamstraat 9).

All photographs will be printed and exhibited in the course of the week. On the 25th of September, there will be a festive meeting with partners, visitors and the portrayed citizens at Felix Meritis.

Friday 16 September - Sunday 25 September, 10:00-18:00 | Entrance fee: Free entry
