In-Depth: The Story Behind The T-Shirt Design of the BOG 2020 | Necim Abiadh

The 2020 collaboration with Amsterdam based streetwear label The New Originals on the creation of our annual Best of Graduates T-shirt. This year will be first time the exclusive collaborative t-shirts will be offered for sale in a very limited quantity – 50 pieces. The New Originals (est. 2015) makes performance clothing for creatives. Their collections are made for a unisex audience, based on the core belief that everyone can maximize their creativity regardless of their background, by thinking out of the box.
“Our roots descend from Amsterdam’s creative landscape, attached to facets as music, nightlife, fashion, and other cultural streams. The 9 dots logo stands for a box, referring to a puzzle. A method of thinking outside the box is required to solve the puzzle. Since we embrace art and culture in our aesthetic and designs. Our mission is to bring different backgrounds closer together and to give creativity a stage. We believe that everyone can maximize their creativity regardless of their background, by thinking out of the box. This year’s t-shirt graphic has been designed by the 2019 RM Public Choice Award winner Necim Abiadh. Abiadh is currently living in New York City where he works for the American artist Tom Sachs.
