Galerie Ron Mandos proudly presents Best of Graduates 2020: the thirteenth edition of the yearly exhibition bringing together the work of the most promising young artists based in The Netherlands. This year marks a special edition of the long-established exhibition. In spite of the coronavirus pandemic and the ensuing postponement of the graduation shows, curator Radek Vana and team Galerie Ron Mandos managed to visit the graduation shows of the art academies in the Netherlands either physically or online. The selection resulted in a vibrant mix of ambitious graduation projects, spanning from painting, sculpture, and photography to film and multimedia installations.
The Best of Graduates exhibition at Galerie Ron Mandos is a must see for art lovers and professionals who are looking to discover a new generation of talented artists. The exhibition offers a platform for young artists and introduces them to the world of galleries, collectors and curators. Participants are eligible to win the Ron Mandos Young Blood Award, the Photo Talent Award and the Public Choice Award. Work by the winning artist of the Ron Mandos Young Blood Award will be placed in the collection of Museum Voorlinden.
On Wednesday 28 October, Suzanne Swarts and Barbara Bos of Museum Voorlinden will officially open Best of Graduates 2020 and will announce the winner of the prestigious Ron Mandos Young Blood Award. Work by the winning artist of the RM Young Blood Award will be placed in the collection of Museum Voorlinden. Furthermore, on Saturday 14 November Eelco van der Lingen, Director of the Mondriaan Fund, will announce which graduate has won the Photo Talent Award. Lastly, on Friday 20 November, the winner of the Public Choice Award will be announced.
Please note that, due to COVID-19, all award ceremonies will be pre-recorded and shared on our social media platforms on the aforementioned dates.
Best of Graduates 2020 and its awards are made possible by the RM Young Blood Foundation. Established in 2018 to support young artists at the start of their career, the Foundation creates an environment that fosters young artistic talent for decades to come.
