ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

We are pleased to present Art Rotterdam part #1 at the gallery, a group exhibition with new work by Maarten Baas, Koen van den Broek, Ron van der Ende, Erwin Olaf, Jacco Olivier, Hans Op de Beeck, Renie Spoelstra, and Bouke de Vries. While Art Rotterdam has been postponed to 1-4 July 2021, this first installment of the art fair allows us to continue promoting our artists during these turbulent times.

The exhibition runs from February 13th through February 27th and is open every day between 12 and 6PM. If you would like to visit the exhibition, please click here to reserve your time-slot. To assure you a safe visit to the gallery, we strictly observe all measures against the coronavirus.

You are also invited to attend our online program. On Sunday February 7th, 14th and 21st, we present three new RM Sunday Sessions in which our artists and other art professionals will contextualize Art Rotterdam and the works in the exhibition.

RM Sunday Session on February 7th | 2 PM (CET)
Gallery director Nick Majoor-Arie will give an online tour through the gallery via a live story on our Instagram page galerieronmandos. If you are unable to view the tour on Sunday February 7th at 2 PM (CET), we will share the video on our website afterwards.

RM Sunday Session on February 14th | 2 PM (CET)
During this virtual talk, Fons Hof (Director Art Rotterdam), Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy (Director Kunstinstituut Melly), Bouke de Vries (artist) and Ron Mandos will talk about Art Rotterdam and its role in supporting new developments in the visual arts. RM Sunday Session on February 21st | 2 PM (CET)
In this virtual session, Hans Op de Beeck, Koen van den Broek, and Jacco Olivier will speak about their life during lockdown and tell us about developments in their artistic practice. ABOUT Maarten Baas

Maarten Baas (1978) is considered to be one of the most influential Dutch designers of the beginning of the 21st century. He is often described as an author designer, whose works lie on the boundaries between art and design. His work is known as rebellious, playful, intellectual, theatrical and artistic, and varies from conceptual designs, limited editions, production design, (public) installations, architecture, interior design, theater design to performances.

His works are in major museum collections, such as the MoMA, New York; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Les Arts Decoratifs, Paris; SFMOMA, San Francisco; Die Neue Sammlung, Munich; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, and Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. His works can also be found in the private collections of Brad Pitt, Kanye West, Ian Schrager and Adam Lindemann. In addition, Baas worked for exclusive brands, such as Louis Vuitton, Swarovski, Dior, Gramercy Park Hotel, Dom Ruinart and Berluti.
